Just like with most RPGs, the character progression still plays a major role. If you want to advance in the gameplay, then you have to learn the mechanics and stand by the rules. Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes on PC or mobile device starts off with you playing hologames with the famous Star Wars characters. There will be a brief tutorial where you can learn most of the mechanics of the gameplay. Considering there are many modes of the game to try at first such as Events, PVP, Alliance and Dark Side Campaign, you still have to reach a certain level before you can unlock the full version.

Soon after you reach the required minimum player level, you can start acquiring heroes for your team. At the start you have to do away with regular heroes that you need to develop throughout the game. Character packs will also be available as you play but that would require in-app purchasing. There are also bundled packs being offered here in case you want to get the most out of the IAPs. For starters, you might want to try out the Chromium Data Pack bundle for better chances of unlocking new and stronger characters early in the gameplay. Otherwise, you can also unlock every character through farming Shards. Shards can be obtained upon completion of quests or by looting them.

Since character progression is so important, you can also equip them with powerful gears. Aside from completing the objectives, you have to fill all the 6 slots available for the gear. Other than that, you may also upgrade the gear level to a higher notch as the game goes. The progression can be seen in changing colours starting from white, then green then turns into blue and lastly into a shade of purple. It would be helpful to craft different item compositions before creating one epic gear to maximise its powers.
